how to install sip firmware on cisco 7942 and 7962 ip phone

:Things We Need

-tftp server and dhcp server (tftpd32)

-lastest sip firmware for phones from cisco

How:

connect phone and pc to network without another dhcp server

extract firmware to tftp root folder

setup dhcp server with option value 66 for tftp address (if uses 150 ,it cause external tftp server address)

reset factory phone by holding # while powering on ,then after 5 second enter (123456789*0#)

now phone rebooted and search for dhcp and tftp server and began of upgrading

  • *for configuring (such as name user pass etc) should create a SEP************.cnf.xml which  should replaced with mac address of phone i give an example in below

*my phones come with sccp 9.3.1r1 firmware so the 8.5.4 firmware doesnt work on it

*firmware above 9.x only work with sip tcp protocol and need this config on both asterisk and phone:

sip.conf:

udpbindaddr=0.0.0.0
tcpenable=yes
tcpbindaddr=0.0.0.0
callcounter=yes
transport=udp, tcp

SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml:

<line button=”1″>
<featureID>9</featureID>
<featureLabel>Foo</featureLabel>
<proxy>USECALLMANAGER</proxy>

N.B. It must say _exactly_ USECALLMANAGER

#Soft Reset

The code for the soft factory reset is: 123456789*0#
A soft reset does the following:
5. deletes key files on the phone including /etc/init.tab
6. reboots
7. phone recovers default loads file from TFTP server

#Total Hard Reset

The code for the total hard reset is: 3491672850*#
A total hard reset formats /flash0 blowing away everything except CNU. All settings and personalization of the phone is removed.

#Hard Reset with Network Setting Preservation

The code for the network preservation hard reset is: *7412369#085
And it also does a complete format of /flash0 — yet it preserves the network settings so that after the format, any static IP and other network settings are preserved. The settings are stored in volatile RAM, so it is important to not remove power to the phone during this process.

upgrade dahua and oem related firmware

for updating from dvr/nvr :

1:from device

copy firmware rom to fat32 flash drive ,extract the zip file and rename .bin file to update.bin

then go to version menu and click on “start” in upgrade section

2:network remote

download configtool software from dahua website

extract firmware zip file

search or add manually device in configtool

go to update menu

select previously extracted .bin file and wait for device to reboot

connect to your ubnt device via ssh (using software like putty

login with web GUI username

insert this codes:

set system task-scheduler task daily-reboot interval 1d
set system task-scheduler task daily-reboot executable /sbin/reboot

.and Done

 

this command reset device every day at 00:00

first i download the vid file from internet =>

then with the help of this video link from vmware =>

which as below:
first copy downloaded driver to datastore from esxi win client or web client or sap software (like winSCP)
the put server in maintenance mode by client or the following code:
> esxcli system maintenanceMode Set —enable true
then copy copied file to /var/log/vmware path
install by
*for .vib files
>esxcli software via install -v /var/log/vmware/*.vib
*for *bundle*.zip files
>esxcli software via install -d /var/log/vmware/*.zip

then restart server by
>reboot

wait until server completely boot up

see if driver is installed and eth is detect by
>lspci -v | grep “Class 0200” -B 1

it should be shown something like this:
[root@localhost:~] lspci -v | grep “Class 0200” -B 1
0000:02:00.0 Ethernet controller Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 Gigabit Ethernet [vmnic2]

if its [vmnic*] is there in end of the network adapter name ,its mean driver installation has successfully

remember put back serve from maintenance mode by this command
> esxcli system maintenanceMode Set —enable false
